Fragole Al Vino Blanco (Strawberries in White Wine)
About Frascati
Frascati is a town and commune in the province of Rome in the Latium region of central Italy. It is located 20km south-east of Rome, on the Alban Hills close to the ancient city of Tusculum.
Frascati is a fruity, golden white wine from the hills around Rome, it can be dry or sweet. It’s a white or rose wine with a good balance between alcohol and acidity.
INGREDIENTS
Serves 4
1¼ lb fresh strawberries
⅓ cup superfine sugar
½ cup dry white wine, preferably Frascati, a light, dry white wine
1. Clean the strawberries and rinse under cold running water. Drain well, then pat dry with paper towels.
2. Transfer the strawberries to a serving dish.
3. Sprinkle with the sugar and drizzle with the wine.
4. Place in the refrigerator to rest for at least 1 hour before serving.
Tips:
Healthy and delicious on their own, these strawberries are excellent when served with vanilla ice cream. Try replacing the wine with the same amount of lemon juice.
