Torta Allo Yougurt Con Nutella (Yogurt Cake with Nutella Cream filling)
About Nutella
Nutella is the brand name of a hazelnut-based sweet spread created by the Italian company Ferrero.
INGREDIENTS
Serves 6 - 8
1¼ cups butter
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 lemon, grated zest (yellow part only)
8 oz whole yogurt
1 cup Nutella
⅔ cup toasted hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup heavy cream
For the pan
butter, as needed
flour, as needed
1. Preheated oven at 350ºF.
2. Beat 1 cup of the butter with ½ cup of the sugar until creamy.
3. Stir in the eggs, one at a time, and beat until smooth.
4. Beat in the flour (reserving 2 tablespoons) and baking powder.
5. Add the lemon zest and all but 2 tablespoons of the yogurt and beat until smooth.
6. Butter and flour a 10-inch springform pan and pour half the mixture into it.
7. Soften the Nutella by sitting the jar in a pan of hot water. Spread it over the cake mixture in the pan and cover with the rest of the mixture.
8. In a small mixing bowl, combine the remaining flour, butter, and sugar with the hazelnuts until the mixture resembles coarse bread crumbs.
9. Sprinkle over the cake.
10. Bake for about 45minutes.
11. Set aside on a cake rack to cool.
12. Whip the cream until stiff.
13. Stir in the remaining yogurt.
14. Serve separately with the cake.
